As you’ve probably seen, Torchbearer is now available through Comixology Submit , and we gotta say we are quite excited! Comixology is the premier and largest online comic book store, as well as one of the #3 iOS app with the largest in-app purchases. It opens up a venue that we know our dear readers have asked for and we can’t wait to bring the next issues of Torchbearer (and our other projects to be announced) to all of you.

Again, this is all part of our master plan to be everywhere digital and in print. Cue evil laugh .

How were we able to accomplish this, you may ask? Well, there were three key components that allowed us to take advantage of this opportunity:

1) Luck: both true out-of-the-blue luck and manufactured luck. The first, I think, we are all familiar with: we find $20.00 on the street, you win the lottery, you get stuck in an elevator with the CEO of a company. In essence, it’s serendipity knocking at your door. Manufactured luck, as I like to call it, is along the same vein, but is due to the fact that you associate with the right people, those whom you are proud to stand side-by-side and help (and be helped by) and are there to help you grow (which in turn helps them grow). People like this know others, which in turn allow for the opportunity of “out-of-the-blue” luck to occur

2) Smarts: This is not the same as intelligence. Smarts, being savvy or clever, recognizing and perceiving the insights of situations, and being see that an opportunity is knocking at your door, is paramount. Otherwise, all the opportunities in the world will just stay unrealized. In our case, we saw several opportunities present themselves around the time of New York Comic Con. 🙂

3) Sheer will: Seeing that there’s something to do and knowing what to do is not the same as doing it. And there’s something we truly believe at Odd Truth: “Fortune favors the bold”. Without taking action, seeing an opportunity become unrealized is worse than never seeing the opportunity to begin with.

And that, dear readers, is how we got on Comixology.

Give or take a few details. 🙂

Have a great and happy holidays, everyone!

See you next week.

Best,

-Nick D.
